birth dOULA, INSTRUCTOR & OWNER
Justine Geberdt is the owner, primary birth doula and childbirth educator at Love the Bump. She has attended over 100 births, has taught well over 100 prenatal classes, and knows where they keep the popsicles.
In addition to her popsicle credentials, Justine has a birth doula certificate from CAPPA, a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Guelph, and an End of Life Doula certificate from Douglas College. She is also an active member of the Association of Ontario Doulas and has received additional training in both acupressure and rebozo for birth professionals.
Justine is a spreadsheet enthusiast, a boy mom, an ice cream addict, and self-professed birth nerd. She loves spending her down-time watching bad television, hanging out with her sister, and failing pretty hardcore at pub trivia.
Tammy Scarfe is the resident postpartum doula here at Love the Bump, or, as I like to call her, our magical Mary Poppins in shining armor!
Tammy is a trained postpartum doula through CAPPA and has additional credentials out the wazoo! She is a retired chiropractor, teacher, yoga instructor and has now gone full doula!
She is the mother of 4 children...you read that right, 4! #notallheroswearcapes. She digs healthy food and, as a true Libra, she is all about balance. Tammy thrives on quality family time and, when she's not doing all the things, she is a legit soap maker.
BaCKUP BIRTH dOULA
Kathy Herbertson is the lovely and talented backup birth doula here at Love the Bump! If Justine is at another birth, Kathy swoops in for the win!
Kathy is certified doula through Childbirth International, and is continually striving to stay current on all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. At the moment she is studying as a breastfeeding counselor, an RPN, and is a member of Evidence Based Birth. She has received specialized training in both acupressure and rebozo for birth professionals.
Kathy is a mom to 2, a book lover, a lifelong learner and a fan of cheesecake and sushi (but not together). For funsies, she enjoys dabbling in tarot cards and watching completely unrealistic medical dramas.
